"I was charged for my room twice and when I tried to resolve the problem the person working the desk told me he "didn't have time to help me". Called the manager when I returned home and was told this was my problem and would have to fix it myself. Other than the day I left the hotel the stay was great but slightly expensive."

"Hawthorne is all about charm. Centrally located, historical, and wedding-tacular. It seemed like it was two blocks from everything -- the waterfront, the Peabody-Essex Museum, the witch attractions. We were here for a wedding that was held in the hotel, and the food and service and convenience were all top-notch. There are a few "quaint" things about the hotel given its age, and that just added to the overall experience."

This Federal-style hotel is named for author Nathaniel Hawthorne, and is within walking distance of the House of the Seven Gables and other Hawthorne sites.
